The Nature of the Product
Rialto Antiqua is a natural decorative plaster for both interior and exterior surfaces, crafted in Italy using a traditional 50-year-old recipe and the finest raw materials. Formulated with long-seasoned magnesiac slaked lime, fine ground white Carrara marble grains, colored earths, and inorganic oxides, it delivers exceptional quality and durability. The Apuan Alps, renowned since the Roman Empire for their unique marble, contribute to Antiqua’s distinctive reflective properties, enhancing depth, color variation, and light diffusion.
The key to Antiqua’s remarkable performance lies in its 24-month seasoned slaked lime, which ensures superior workability and longevity. Naturally breathable, abrasion-resistant, and highly resistant to mold, it is an ideal choice for both historic building restoration and contemporary architectural projects. Its versatility allows for a variety of finishes: a sponged trowel creates the traditional ‘frattazzato’ texture, while a stainless steel trowel achieves a smoother ‘lamato’ effect. Pressing and polishing techniques further enhance the surface with multi-textured effects, making Antiqua a perfect blend of tradition and innovation in sustainable decorative finishes.
Rialto Antiqua is also available in the version Rialto Antiqua 2. It contains a small presence of black carbonates to create a finely rustic and colored look.
