System Key Features
PERFORMANCE & COMPLIANCE
Specifiers, facilities managers and main contractors need more than a good-looking finish. Here is the performance data behind our commercial systems.
Slip resistance
- Politura: R9 as standard. Finishing with Micro Sol PTR10, a glass-bead slip-resistant sealer, raises it to R10.
- ErreLAB Spatolato with Top Clear sealer: R10 (DIN 51130).
- ErreLAB Pietra Continua Basalto and Calcare with Top Clear: R11 (DIN 51130). Basalto is also Class B for barefoot areas (DIN 51097).
- ErreLAB Top Clear SOL with anti-slip aggregate: R11 (coarse) up to R12 (DIN 51130), and Class A to C for barefoot wet areas (DIN 51097).
- Smooth finishes: every Top Clear finish (gloss, satin and matt) beats the Italian accessibility friction standard D.M. 236/89 (above 0.40), scoring 0.47 to 0.59 dry and 0.73 to 0.90 wet.
Fire, hygiene and certification (ErreLAB)
- Fire: Bfl-s1 (EN 13501-1) for the ErreLAB Spatolato floor system, with the lowest smoke rating (s1). Classified by Istituto Giordano, an EU-notified test laboratory (report 363571/12498/CPR), for application over concrete and screed. Certificates available on request.
- Indoor air: A+, the best class under French VOC emission regulations, for Decoro Spatolato and the Top Clear sealers (gloss, matt and SOL). Spatolato and Top Clear matt also passed the Italian CAM decree. All tested independently by Eurofins (2019).
- Food areas: Top Clear gloss sealer is certified HACCP-suitable for kitchens and food preparation areas.
- Chemical resistance: Top Clear gloss showed no change after three days in contact with water, acetone, bleach, cola, olive oil, ketchup and salt water (ErreLAB test).
- CE marked with Declarations of Performance.
See ErreLAB’s certification index.
Durability, proven in use
- SevenStore: a high-traffic retail floor laid in 2020, still performing six years on with no maintenance beyond daily cleaning.
- Adidas, Carnaby Street: a fast-turnaround refit in central London.
- Franklin College, Grimsby: cafeteria, coffee shop and main corridor serving 3,000+ students and staff. See all case studies.
Hygiene and substrate compatibility
- Seamless and grout-free, with no joints for dirt, mould or mildew to collect in.
- Bond strength verified in independent testing, for application over concrete, screeds, timber, tiles and metal.
- Compatible with underfloor heating.
- Damp or problem concrete: ErreLAB Erre-Block primer is CE marked to EN 1504-2 for concrete protection. Its declared figures are 2.1 MPa bond strength (the concrete failed before the bond did), Class 2 impact resistance and near-zero water absorption. It showed no change after 72 hours under 2.5 bar of water pressure from below (UNI 8298-8). Erre-Block One passed the same pressure test independently at SOCOTEC and is rated A+ for indoor air.
Lime wall finishes: sustainability credentials
- Rialto Mediterraneo meets EN 15824 for durability and adhesion, with Class V1 water-vapour permeability (UNI EN ISO 7783-2).
- Rialto Epoca Ottocento contributes to LEED v4 credits (MRc5 and EQc2, Low-Emitting Materials).
- Non-flammable, with very low VOC.
