The Snobs nightclub floor in Birmingham is a bespoke metallic finish that PB Flooring Ltd created themselves using ErreLAB’s Metallo Continuo products. It isn’t one of the standard Metallo Continuo finishes, but it shows how versatile the products are: installers can use them to create finishes of their own, for projects that need something nice but not common.
What Snobs wanted
And that is exactly what PB Flooring Ltd customer, SNOBS nightclub, were looking for when they moved to their new premises. They wanted a dramatic finish with a metallic effect that showed a lot of movement. As a nightclub they wanted something that was going to be eye-catching, but that also needed to be functional and easy to clean. It had to be hard wearing and stain resistant.

Paul Butler came to ask Achtis for some advice as he said that he didn’t want to create a metallic floor that would look like “a well-used ice rink”. He needed a floor that would offer some longevity, and we were able to point him in the direction of the new ErreLAB Metallo Continuo.
One notable aspect of this flooring is that Errelab conducted extensive testing in a furniture showroom for 12 months prior to its market release. It underwent a full year of real-world testing in a large commercial setting, which gave us full confidence in recommending it for this application.
The easiest thing with this project was that Paul’s customer knew exactly what colours they wanted, they were going for gold, coppers and brown tones for the main floor, and they wanted silvers and golds for the VIP lounge. Both needed to be on a black background so that made things a little bit easier.
“Every layer was easy to apply,” said Paul, “but my favourite bit was working with the gels. When I tipped the three colours onto the floor and trowelled through them the finished swirls looked great. The whole system was a treat to work with.”
Paul’s customer was, “Dead pleased with it” and the floor was completed in time for the reopening of Snobs nightclub in its new home. The floors look amazing, and it is providing durability, stain resistance and movement; everything the customer wanted. Paul and his customer are delighted with the project.
