What it is

Metallo Continuo is built on ErreLAB Spatolato. A coloured Decoro Spatolato base, the same water-based epoxy mortar used for Spatolato floors, is trowelled on first. Two coats of Metal Gel, a water-based polyurethane finish with pearlescent and mica pigments, are then spread over it by hand to create the metallic effect, and Top Clear seals it.

It comes in four ranges, each in six colours. 2D finishes have a smooth base laid in two coats. 3D finishes have a single base coat that’s patted and smoothed for texture and depth. It’s hard wearing and stain resistant, for homes, shops, bars and hotels.

Metallo Continuo is for indoor floors and walls. Where it will be in contact with water, such as showers and vanity tops, ErreLAB recommends finishing with Top Clear SOL. Swatches on screen are a guide only, so ask us for a sample to see the real finish.

Four ranges

2D finishes are smooth and 3D finishes are textured. Each range has six colours.

Lamina 2D

Smooth and bright, with even reflections. Iron, Mercury, Inox, Bronze, Light Gold and Pale Gold.

Lamina 3D

Textured, for solid, structured surfaces. Platinum, Pink Gold, Red Copper, Oxid Copper, Copper and Titanium.

Metallo 2D

Smooth metallic surfaces for light, contemporary spaces. Steel, Rust, Copper Green, Gold, Corten and White Gold.

Metallo 3D

Textured metallic surfaces with depth and movement. Rust, Copper Green, Gold, Steel, Corten and White Gold.

Installation

Best applied by a trained installer. The full cycle takes 3 to 4 days, and the Metallo Continuo application manual gives the base colour, gel colour and sealer for each finish.

How Metallo Continuo is applied

Trowel on coloured Decoro Spatolato: two thin, smooth coats for 2D finishes, or one coat patted and smoothed for 3D.
Sand (80 to 120 grit) and remove all dust.
Spread a first coat of Metal Gel with a clear plastic trowel to build a covering background.
After 4 to 6 hours, spread a second coat of Metal Gel for the final effect, following the pattern in the base.
Seal with Top Clear, satin or matt depending on the colour. Use Top Clear SOL where it will get wet.
