Microcement for Walls

Seamless, modern, and highly versatile, microcement walls are the perfect solution for creating contemporary, durable surfaces in both residential and commercial environments.

At Achtis Group, we offer premium wall systems using our Politura mineral microcement range and Errelab resin-based microcement, providing beautiful, long-lasting finishes across a wide range of applications.

Whether you’re creating a feature wall, bathroom, or full commercial interior, our microcement systems deliver a unique architectural finish.

What Is Microcement for Walls?

Microcement is a thin, cement-based decorative coating applied by hand in multiple layers to create a seamless surface. Installed at approximately 2–3mm thickness, it bonds directly to a properly prepared substrate without the need for removing existing finishes in many refurbishment projects.

It consists of fine aggregates, cementitious binders, polymers and pigments, finished with a protective sealer. The final appearance can range from smooth and contemporary to more textured, natural concrete effects.

Politura and Errelab Microcement Systems

Our Politura mineral microcement range offers a natural, breathable finish with subtle texture and depth. It is particularly well suited to residential interiors, feature walls, and decorative applications where a refined, mineral aesthetic is desired. Politura provides a timeless appearance that complements both contemporary and traditional spaces.

For projects requiring enhanced durability or increased flexibility, we offer Errelab resin-based microcement systems. These incorporate advanced resin technology to improve strength, adhesion, and crack resistance. This makes them especially suitable for commercial interiors, bathrooms, hospitality environments, and other areas where higher performance is required.

Our team can advise on the most appropriate system depending on your project, substrate, and performance requirements.

Suitable Backgrounds and Preparation

Microcement can be applied to a wide range of properly prepared wall substrates, including plasterboard, cement board, sand and cement render, concrete, and existing tiled surfaces. The most important requirement is that the substrate is stable, sound, and properly prepared.

Any cracks must be assessed and repaired prior to application, as microcement will follow movement within the substrate. Similarly, areas where different materials meet, or where movement joints exist, must be correctly detailed to ensure long-term performance. Weak or unstable backgrounds must be strengthened or replaced before installation.

Proper preparation is essential to achieving a durable and long-lasting finish.

Applications

Microcement walls are widely used in residential settings, particularly in bathrooms, wet rooms, kitchens, and living spaces where a seamless, modern appearance is desired. They are equally suited to commercial environments such as retail interiors, offices, hotels, and restaurants, where durability and aesthetics are equally important.

The versatility of microcement allows it to be used for full wall coverage or as a feature surface, and it is available in a wide range of colours and finishes, from soft natural tones to contemporary concrete effects.

Choosing the Right Microcement

Both Politura and Errelab systems offer excellent performance, but the correct choice will depend on the specific requirements of the project. Politura is often selected for its natural mineral appearance and decorative qualities, while Errelab is preferred in areas where additional durability or additional water proofing is beneficial.

We can provide colour charts, samples, and technical guidance to help you select the most appropriate system.
