ErreLAB Porfido
Decorative effect for floors and walls
Porfido
Intense colours and distinctive horizontal movement define Porfido’s striking surface, faithfully replicating the timeless beauty of Italian porphyry stone. Inspired by rocks of magmatic origin—long valued in both architectural construction and refined decoration—this finish immediately conveys structural strength and bold character.
Porfido captures the enduring toughness of Pietra Continua, combining decisive, powerful tones with a complex, uniquely layered effect that reflects the raw mastery of nature. Beyond its visual impact, ErreLAB Porfido is engineered for performance: hard-wearing, water-resistant at every layer, and highly scratch-resistant. The result is a surface that delivers uncompromising durability alongside authentic stone aesthetics—strong in substance, confident in presence, and designed to last.
System Key Features

Why Choose Porfido for Your Project?
Porfido delivers presence. Its beaten horizontal pattern and layered two-tone colour wash recreate the bold, stratified character of Italian porphyry — a stone prized for centuries in architecture precisely because it combines visual weight with genuine toughness.
The resin version keeps both qualities: a hand-crafted, corroded-stone texture that commands attention, backed by the hard-wearing, scratch-resistant, fully water-resistant build of the ErreLAB range. Choose Porfido where you want a surface with strength you can see.
Application
R303 BASE PIETRA 143 (A+B) does not require dilution. To improve workability for wall application, add up to 1% by weight of R844 ADDENSANTE LIQUIDO.
Apply the product using an stainless steel trowel in a single coat at a coverage rate of approximately 1.10 kg/m². Once applied, compact (“pat”) the surface in a dense and uniform manner, working in parallel horizontal lines. Alternate one beaten strip with one non-beaten strip, creating visible irregularities and ripples in the material.
Lightly smooth the entire surface—both beaten and non-beaten areas—with a the flat bottom of your trowel on a slight angle, following the direction of the horizontal strips. This will create an alternating smooth and texture with a clearly legible pattern. The final effect should show parallel horizontal stripes with a distinctly “corroded” appearance.
Once fully dry, sand the surface using 80-grit sanding discs and remove all dust thoroughly.
For the colour wash phase, choose the desired color scheme: Elegance, Style, or Trend. The colour effect is achieved by combining R421 VELOPIETRA KK (main color) with R421 VELOPIETRA PE, PS, or PT, according to the combinations indicated in the colour chart.
Following the previously created horizontal lines, use a microfibre glove to apply and blend the two selected R421 VELOPIETRA colors directly on the surface. Maintain approximately 80% R421 VELOPIETRA KK (main color) and 20% of the chosen secondary color. Then, using the glove, gently pat the entire surface to achieve an aesthetically uniform and harmonious finish.
The total consumption of R421 VELOPIETRA is approximately 200 g/m² (about 160 g/m² of R421 VELOPIETRA KK and 40 g/m² of the secondary color).
For protection, apply one undiluted coat of R533 TOP-CLEAR OPACO using a plastic trowel in a skim coat.
For wall cladding applications, replace this step with a single flush coat of R405 VELATURA Transparent.
