Why Choose Scisto for Your Project?
Scisto is the most contemporary character in the Pietra Continua collection. Its diagonal texture and crystal-like reflections — drawn from the natural lamellar structure of schist — create quiet, sophisticated movement across floors and walls, catching the light differently from every angle.
Application
R303 BASE PIETRA – 143 (A+B) does not require dilution. To improve workability when applying it to the wall, you may add up to 1% by weight of R844 ADDENSANTE LIQUIDO.
Apply the product using a stainless steel trowel in a single coat at a coverage rate of approximately 1.10 kg/m². Once spread, work the surface in a dense and regular manner by creating parallel diagonal lines (approx. 45 degrees). Alternate between beaten (patted) and non-beaten areas to produce visible irregularities and subtle ripples in the material.
Next, lightly smooth the surface with the flat bottom of the trowel on a slight angle, following the direction of the diagonal lines. Work across both the beaten and non-beaten sections to achieve a balanced alternation of smooth and textured areas with a clearly defined pattern. The finished effect should display parallel diagonal stripes with a distinctive “corroded” appearance.
Allow the surface to dry completely. Once dry, sand using 80-grit sanding discs, then remove all dust thoroughly.
For the glazing phase, first select the desired colour scheme: Elegance, Style, or Trend. The final colour is achieved by combining R421 VELOPIETRA KK (main colour) with one of the secondary options—R421 VELOPIETRA SE, SS, or ST—according to the combinations shown in the colour chart.
Following the previously created diagonal pattern, use a micofibre glove to apply and blend the two R421 VELOPIETRA colours onto the surface. Maintain a ratio of approximately 80% R421 VELOPIETRA KK (main colour) and 20% of the selected secondary colour. Then, using the glove, gently dab the entire surface to achieve a uniform and aesthetically balanced finish.
Total consumption of R421 VELOPIETRA is approximately 200 g/m², divided as follows: 160 g/m² of R421 VELOPIETRA KK and 40 g/m² of the secondary colour.
Finally, protect the surface with one undiluted coat of R533 TOP-CLEAR OPACO, applied thinly using a plastic trowel.
For wall applications, replace this final coat with a single thin application of R405 VELATURA Transparent.

Three different protective, transparent finishes are available: Lucido (Glossy), Satinato (Satin), Opaco (Matt).
For the Pietra Continua range, ErreLAB recommends using Opaco (Matt) for the best aesthetic results.
