ErreLAB Quarzite
Flowing parallel movement and a subtle pearlescent shimmer, inspired by quartzite. A floor that shifts with the light.
What it is
Quarzite takes its look from metamorphic quartzite, where quartz gives the stone its pearly sheen. Base Pietra is mixed with lava sand and smoothed in one direction with a long trowel, leaving parallel horizontal lines.
Once sanded, a mopped-on colour veil of Velopietra TR and earth pigment brings out the movement, and two coats of matt Top Clear protect it.
Quarzite is a floor finish, for indoor use. For outside, use Quarzite Outdoor from the Pietra Continua Outdoor range.
The colour veil uses 40 g of R420 Velopietra TR per square metre. Mix mechanically for at least two minutes until even.
Top Clear comes in three transparent finishes: Lucido (gloss), Satinato (satin) and Opaco (matt). ErreLAB recommends Opaco for Pietra Continua.

Installation

How Quarzite is applied
- Day 1: mix Base Pietra 143 with 5% lava sand and 5% water. Spread one coat of about 0.9 kg/m², then smooth it in a single direction with a 50 cm trowel to leave parallel horizontal lines.
- Once dry, sand with 80–120 grit discs and vacuum thoroughly.
- Day 2: mix Velopietra TR with three times its weight of water and 2 to 5% earth pigment, depending on the colourway, then mop it evenly over the floor.
- Day 3: roll on two coats of Top Clear Opaco diluted with 10% water.
