ErreLAB Travertino
The light-and-shadow movement of classic travertine, as one continuous floor with no grout lines.
What it is
Travertino recreates the chiaroscuro of one of history’s best-loved building stones. Base Pietra is spread in a single coat, then, while it’s still wet, beaten firmly and evenly with the trowel and lightly smoothed in a checkerboard pattern.
When it’s dry it’s sanded, then given a mopped-on colour veil of Velopietra TR and earth pigment, which settles into the texture. One coat of matt Top Clear protects the finish.
Travertino is a floor finish, for indoor use. For outside, use Travertino Outdoor from the Pietra Continua Outdoor range.
It’s naturally pigmented with clays and oxides and enriched with lava powder, quartz and mica. The decorative shades come from R745 Terre colorant codes N24, N12 and N08, and the colour veil uses 40 g of R420 Velopietra TR per square metre. Mix mechanically for at least two minutes until even.
Top Clear comes in three transparent finishes: Lucido (gloss), Satinato (satin) and Opaco (matt). ErreLAB recommends Opaco for Pietra Continua.

How Travertino is applied
- Day 1: spread Base Pietra 143 in a single coat of about 1.2 kg/m². While it’s wet, beat it densely and evenly with the trowel, then lightly smooth it in a checkerboard pattern.
- Once dry, sand with 80–120 grit discs and vacuum thoroughly.
- Day 2: mix Velopietra TR with three times its weight of water and 2% earth pigment, then mop it evenly over the floor.
- After 6 hours, apply one coat of Top Clear Opaco with a plastic trowel.
