Rialto Eco Fondo is a white opaque sandy basecoat made from a special vinyl copolymer and selected aggregates including marble dust and titanium dioxide — the ideal primer for gypsum board, drywall and fine plasters before a mineral or organic-binder finish.

Working Instructions

Apply directly to dry, clean gypsum board/drywall — do not use where there’s damp, staining or mould.
On new plaster, wait at least 28 days for complete drying before applying.
On old plaster, remove loose or dusty paint and any grease, and confirm the surface hasn’t previously been treated with a silicone or similar colourless coating. Repair damage with mortar and allow 28 days to cure first.
Smooth uneven areas with Rialto Wallcem before applying, if needed.
On dusty or highly absorbent surfaces, apply a coat of Rialto Primer diluted 1:10 with water first to reduce absorption.
Clean brushes and tools with water immediately after use.
