Why microcement works in bathrooms
Microcement can go on floors, walls, shower enclosures and worktops, and over plaster, cement, tiles or timber. The result is one seamless surface with no grout lines for dirt, mould or mildew to collect in.
The choice of system matters more here than anywhere else. Water exposure is constant, so the finish has to resist water through its whole build, not just at the surface.

Why choose microcement for a bathroom
Our pick for bathrooms: ErreLAB
For showers, wet rooms and busy family bathrooms, we recommend ErreLAB’s resin systems: Spatolato, Velato, Pietra Continua and Metallo Continuo. They resist water at every layer, so even if a sealer is scratched, water can’t soak in behind it.
Each one carries on from the floor up the walls and into the shower with no joints, and they’re extremely hard wearing and stain resistant. The one exception is ErreFast, ErreLAB’s quick acrylic finish: it isn’t suitable for showers and other wet areas, but like Politura it works elsewhere in the bathroom, away from direct water.

Why we recommend resin where it’s wet
Applying it in a bathroom
Resin goes on the same way as mineral microcement, built up in thin layers. The main difference is mixing: ErreLAB products are usually two or three components. Over tiles, carbon fibre or mesh goes into the base coat, and wet areas may need a moisture-barrier primer.
Our ErreLAB training course covers preparation, application and sealing.

Questions about microcement bathrooms
Can microcement go in a shower?
Yes, with an ErreLAB resin system, which is water resistant at every layer. We don’t recommend mineral or acrylic microcements for showers or wet rooms.
Can it go over my bathroom tiles?
Yes, with ErreLAB, if the tiles are well bonded. See microcement over tiles.
Is it slippery when wet?
ErreLAB Top Clear SOL with anti-slip aggregate is rated for barefoot wet areas, Class A to C (DIN 51097). Pietra Continua Basalto is Class B.
What colours can I have?
A wide range across the ErreLAB charts, with large swatches for most of them. See ErreLAB colours.
